Girls basketball / Lake County roundup

A day after clinching the North Suburban Lake Division championship and berth in the NSC title game, Stevenson's girls basketball team faced Round Lake in a makeup game Saturday.

The Patriots had no letdown, winning the conference crossover 66-30, as freshman Kiana Cencula scored a season-high 21 points.

Fellow freshman Skylar Blackstock also posted her season-high point total for Stevenson (23-3), netting 18. Taylor Buford contributed 10 points for the Patriots.

Round Lake (5-20) was led in scoring by Hayley Smith with 10 points. Miya Johnson had 8.

Lake Zurich 36, Grant 33: Elly Daleske scored a game-high 16 points, and the visiting Bears rallied from a 30-27 deficit after three quarters to win the North Suburban Conference crossover.

Frankie Nasca added 8 points for Lake Zurich (11-13).

Grant (9-14) received 10 points apiece from Jordynn Hundley and Mallory Harrity. Jasmine Glover had 9 points for the Bulldogs, who played their second game in a row without guard Jasmine Sangster (illness).

Evanston 49, Grayslake North 39: Maggie Fish scored 10 points for the host Knights in their nonconference loss.

Sammie Villwock added 9 and Brandi Thibeaux had 8 for Grayslake North (12-13).
