Christian Liberty comes back to edge Harvest Christian

Patience helped Christian Liberty Academy prevail against Harvest Christian in a Northeast Athletic Conference boys basketball matchup on Friday night in Arlington Heights.

The Chargers trailed 21-6 at one point early in the second quarter and came up empty through the first half in a usual team strength, 3-pointers.

But Christian Liberty hit five 3s in the second half and also made 9 for 13 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull out a 55-51 victory.

Paul Weiss finished with a team-best 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Chargers, who outscored the Lions 21-14 in the third quarter and 16-12 in the fourth.

Ben Daniel (10 points) and Ben Kemper (9) both had a par of 3s, and Mark Cabrera (10 points) had one 3.

Harvest Christian junior forward Brett Cramer led all scores with 15 points.
