Girls basketball: Fox Valley roundup Wednesday, Jan. 21
Jacobs 52, McHenry 33: Behind big games from Jenni Barnec and Talia Surges, the Golden Eagles (7-12, 1-4) picked up their first Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Barnec poured in 14 points, including three 3-pointers, while Surges finished with 12. Carly Sidor also chipped in with 11 points.
Burlington Central 78, North Boone 35: Spurred on by a 34-point third quarter the Rockets (15-3, 6-0) stayed perfect in Big Northern East play, winning big on the road. Kayla Ross led all scorers with 21 points while Sam Pryor was right behind her with 17 thanks to five 3-pointers. Kristina Ahlers also was in double digits with 14 points.
