"Wauconda played well out of the gates, putting the Sequoits on their heels," Antioch coach Tim Borries said.

Wauconda (7-9, 2-6) was led by Corrina Vaughan with 13 points and Katie Rossetti with 12.

"It was a great game, and we gave them all they could handle," Wauconda coach Jaime Dennis said. "It is the kind of effort I have been looking for all season. We still struggle with consistency, but it was a better effort."

Lakes 64, Round Lake 40: Natalie and Olivia Pawlak used their size and strength to put up 21 and 10 points, respectively, as the Eagles evened their record at 11-11, while improving to 4-3 in the North Suburban Prairie.

"Howard does a great job getting his players to play hard, and this game was no different," Lakes coach Pete Schneider said of Round Lake coach Howard Conkling.

Lakes also got good guard play from Ellie Haviland and Natalie Iacopetti in distributing the ball and pushing the tempo, Schneider added. Lakes led by 15 points at halftime and pushed the lead to 30 before finishing the game out.

"The kids are making the extra pass and finding the open player," Schneider said. "We are coming together and the pieces are beginning to fit. We came ready to play today and that makes all the difference. Round Lake had a good environment with raucous fans, a jazz band and cheerleaders, and my kids showed some poise that we have not always had this year."
