Victories for Barrington, Rolling Meadows

Junior Rapolas Ivanauskas scored a game-high 21 points to help Barrington past Wheeling 81-48 on Tuesday in Mid-Suburban League boys basketball divisional crossover at Barrington.

Wheeling mostly kept pace with the Broncos through the first half and trailed 42-31 at the break. But MSL West leader Barrington (14-4, 4-0) limited the Wildcats to 8 points in third quarter to take control.

Senor guard Alex Karras led Wheeling with 10 points, while Jalen Dennis finished with 8 and Jake Jordan 7.

Senior forward Chris Lester had 13 points for Barrington, and senior guard Tristen Becker contributed 12 (including a pair of 3s).

Barrington, which has won three straight, will play an MSL West matchup Thursday at Conant (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday at Palatine (6 p.m.).

Rolling Meadows 57, Niles West 50: Host Rolling Meadows limited the Warriors to 8 points in the first quarter and outscored Niles West in every period but the second on the way to a nonconference victory.

Junior guard Matt Wojcik led the Mustangs in scoring with 17 points.

Jared Murphy and Jack Schoessling, both sophomores, hit a pair of 3s and also had solid games offensively. Murphy finished with 16 points and Schoessling had 14.

Rolling Meadows (8-9) has won two straight heading into its next game, a 6 p.m. Mid-Suburban East matchup Saturday at Wheeling.
