Firnbach, Vernon Hills top Mundelein

Kasey Firnbach scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, and Vernon Hills' girls basketball team defeated visiting Mundelein 48-37 in a North Suburban Conference crossover Friday night.

Monica Bahlmann added 15 points and 4 rebounds for the Cougars (15-4), who won their third game in a row and seventh in their last eight. Haley Lieberman contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Mundelein (8-13) was led by Maggie Mahar's 15 points and Natalie Busscher's eight.
