Rolling Meadows prevails at Niles West

Rolling Meadows' girls basketball team improved to 14-5 on Tuesday night with a 48-42 nonconference victory over Niles West in Skokie.

The Mustangs were led by sophomore guard Kyra Spiwak, whose 19 points included 11-of-14 free throws. Also reaching double figures was junior guard Megan King, who had 11 points with three 3-pointers. Sophomore Kelsey Nallon also hit a 3-pointer for the Mustangs.

Leyden 44, Maine East 32: Senior guard Alondra Chavarria tossed home 25 points as Leyden won the nonconference game in Park Ridge and improved to 7-9. Sophomore teammate Autumn McGee added 8 points (6-of-6 free throws)/
