Vernon Hills 67, Palatine 54: On Tuesday night, as part of Lake Zurich's MLK Tournament, the host Cougars outscored the Pirates 23-10 in the fourth quarter.
The score was tied 44-44 after three.
Robby Nardini led Vernon Hills (12-2) with a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers. He sank a pair of 3s in the fourth. Bo Manso also made four 3-pointers, finishing with 19 points for the Cougars. Matt Weaver tallied 8 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter for the home team.
Vernon Hills also received 8 points from Lem Turner.
