Barrington 35, Naperville Central 32: Barrington's girls basketball team earned its first win in the Dundee-Crown Charger Classic on Monday with a 35-32 triumph over Naperville Central.
Trailing 19-11 at the break, coach Babbi Barreiro's Fillies came up with a strong second-half performance, limiting the Redhawks to 13 points in the consolation-bracket game.
On offense, it was junior Megan Talbot who led the way with 10 points, followed by senior Bailee McDonald with 7. McDonald also pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds while Talbot had 7.
Teammate Abigail Elo chipped in 5 points with a steal and an assist while Alex Van Ryne had 5 rebounds and 4 points. Auri Grayson pulled down 4 rebounds.
Kelly Katis and Elo each had a 3-pointer for Barrington (5-8).
Dundee-Crown 54, Maine West 40: Maine West freshman Allison Pearson scored a team-high 18 points for the second straight game at the Dundee-Crown Charger Classic.
Classmate Catherine Johnson grabbed 7 rebounds with her 4 points for the Warriors (4-10) in the consolation-bracket game.
Jesania Laboy had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the host Chargers (8-10) while Creighton Fed added 15 points and 6 rebounds.
