Another big outing from Barrington

There was no slowing Barrington at Jacobs on Tuesday, where the Broncos rolled past Johnsburg 62-39 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.

Barrington will meet Zion-Benton in Friday's 6 p.m. game., with third-place and championship action on Saturday night.

Ben Weber led the way for the Broncos with 18 points, and Rapolas Ivanauskas had 16, including 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Ivanauskas, a junior forward, has made all 22 of his free throw attempts over the last four games.

Weber finished with four 3s and led a 20-point first quarter for Barrington by hitting a pair of 3s and 12 points total in the period.

Will Reinhard contributed 8 points, including a 3-point and 5-for-6 at the foul line for Barrington.

at Proviso West

Homewood-Flossmoor 61, St. Viator 53: The Lions produced balanced scoring as Sal Cannella (13 points), Patrick McNamara (12), Ricky Muench (12) and Mark Falotico (11) each broke into double figures.

But that wasn't enough to offset a first-half scoring imbalance, as Homewood-Flossmoor led 35-15 at the break.

Muench shot 4-for-6 from 3-point range, Cannella led the Lions in rebounds (7) and steals (4) before fouling out, and Falotico led St. Viator in assists (4).

Next up for the Lions is an 11:30 a.m. Friday game against Providence-St. Mel.

Hoffman Estates 47, Montini 43: Jorden Thornton scored a game-high 21 points to help Hoffman Estates past Montini in tournament play at Glenbard West.

at Wheeling

Buffalo Grove 51, Streamwood 37: Colin Calcagno went 5-for-10 from 3-point range and 3-for-4 at the free throw line to finish with a game-high 18 points and help the Bison to a consolation bracket victory.

Hans Haller had 13 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field and led BG with 7 rebounds, and Collin Dekorsi contributed 6 points and a team-high 5 assists along with 2 steals.

Buffalo Grove limited Streamwood to 10-for-33 shooting on 2-point attempts.

Vernon Hills 72, Maine West 64: The Warriors had a nice day from 2-point range, making 18 of 31 shots.

It wasn't enough against senior guard Robby Nardini and the Cougars.

Nardini was 12-for-20 from the field with four 3s, finishing with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Bo Manso (17 points) and Matt Weaver (13) also scored in double figures for Vernon Hills.

Matt Acevedo led Maine West with 21 points and also contributed 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Julian Dones had 15 points, including three 3s, along with 2 assists and 3 steals.

Waukegan 62, Wheeling 51: Jachai Taylor scored a game-high 22 points for the Bulldogs to deprive the Wildcats of their first Hardwood Classic win.

Senior forward Bobby Webber scored a team-high 13 points which included a pair of 3s and also had a team-high 5 rebounds to lead Wheeling.

Ola Arogundade and Jalen Dennis each contributed 7 points for the Wildcats.
