"We have improved in many phases of the game but still lack the consistent energy it takes to always compete," Lakes coach Pete Schneider said. "I am not disappointed in our start to the season. I am disappointed in our performance today, but overall some good things are happening. We need to get stronger taking care of the ball, and our defense is still not where we can compete. We know we can score but need consistency on the defensive end."
Nicole Denman led Lakes (7-7) with 9 points and some good defense, Schneider said. Natalie Pawlak added 7 points in limited minutes due to an injury.
