Girls basketball: Fox Valley roundup Saturday, Dec. 20

Dundee-Crown 62, Marengo 34: Creighton Fed scored 17 points and Jesaina Laboy had 12 to lead the Chargers at the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic. Melissa Barker added 9 points to the win and Lauren Lococo had 8 for D-C.

Dundee-Crown 57, Wauconda 53: Tied 41-41 going into the fourth quarter, D-C had enough to get past Wauconda in the final game of pool play at the NIHC. Creighton Fed led the Chargers (6-7) with 24 points, hitting 12 of 16 from the free-throw line, while Jesaina Laboy added 12 and Allison Michalski had 8. D-C, which has won 4 straight, takes on Crystal Lake South at 11 a.m. Monday at McHenry in the championship semifinals.

CL South 50, Johnsburg 41: Chanel Fanter had 18 points and 7 rebounds and Kianna Clark added 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Gators at the NIHC. Hailee Massie added 9 points for Crystal Lake South.

Woodstock 51, CL South 48 (OT): Down 40-26 after a scoreless third quarter, the Gators stormed back to force overtime but then fell short at the NIHC. Chanel Fanter had 21 points to lead Crystal Lake South, with Kianna Clark collecting 9 points and 8 rebounds and Hailee Massie 7 points. Despite the loss, the Gators ((10-3) won their pool on a tiebreaker and will play Dundee-Crown at 11 a.m. Monday at McHenry in the championship semifinals.

Geneva 59, Elgin 19: In the Upstate Eight River, Lakiya Harvey scored 8 points and Destiny West had 7 for Elgin (2-8, 0-5).

St. Charles East 56, Streamwood 34: Jenejha Williams had 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks for the Sabres (3-8, 2-4) in their UEC River loss. Kiana Jeremiah added 12 points for Streamwood.
