Lakes rallies past Richmond-Burton

Down by 5 points with just more than three minutes to play, Lakes fought back to get a 41-39 victory over Richmond-Burton in its first game of the day in the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic at Woodstock on Saturday.

Izzy Quaranta led the way with 8 points for Lakes, while Natalie Pawlak, Olivia Pawlak and Ellie Haviland had 6 points apiece.

North Chicago 79, Lakes 58: Lakes got a loss in its second game of the day at the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic at Woodstock. Ellie Haviland, who missed some practices this week while battling the flu, toped Lakes (6-6) with 19 points. Grayslake Central 52, Lake Forest 46: Lauren Spalding scored 13 points and Juliana Frusolone added 10 points to lead Grayslake Central to a win in the Warren Blue Devil Classic. Quin Garbett added 8 points while Kelly Moroney finished with 6 points for the Rams.

Wauconda 45, Woodstock North 32: In the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic at Richmond-Burton, Wauconda got a game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds out of Jackie Lung. Jessie Wood and Natalie Harding added 9 and 8 points respectively for the Bulldogs.

Dundee-Crown 57, Wauconda 53: In its second game of the day at the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic, Wauconda fell short after entering the fourth quarter tied with Dundee-Crown. Katie Rossetti poured in a game-high 28 points for Wauconda. The Bulldogs (5-4) also got 8 points from Corrina Vaughen.
