Boys basketball: Fox Valley roundup Friday, Dec. 5

Cary-Grove 68, Carmel 61 (OT): Jason Gregoire had 33 points in his first game back after football season and the Trojans (2-2, 0-0) survived in overtime to get back to .500 on the year with a nonconference win. Gregorie made just five baskets from the field but was 22-of-24 from the charity stripe to seal the victory. Trevor Ruhland added 11 points for Cary-Grove.

Westminster Christian 68, Keith School 30: Riding momentum after a 27-point first quarter outburst, the Warriors (4-1, 1-0) cruised to the finish line on the road in their first Northeastern Athletic Conference action. Dillon Rejman scored a game-high 24 points and hit six 3-pointers on the night. Sam Carani also chipped in 13 points for Westminster.

Mooseheart 52, Harvest Christian 31: The Lions (2-3, 0-1) shot just 38 percent from the free throw line in a loss to open up NAC play. Noah Fox and Riley Steiner led the Lions with 9 points each.

Aurora Central Catholic 80, St. Edward 68: A 33-point outburst by Nick Duffy was not enough to lift the Green Wave (5-2) to victory as they fell for the second straight night at the 4th annual Burney Wilke Classic at Aurora Christian. Gino Domel added 13 points while Joe French kicked in 10 for St. Edward.

North Shore Country Day 60, Elgin Academy 48: Dee Robinson finished with a team-high 27 points, but the Hilltoppers (0-2) could not get the victory on the road.
