Girls basketball: Lake County roundup
Antioch's girls basketball team continued its strong play to start the season Wednesday night.
Ashley Reiser led the way with 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals, as the Sequoits knocked off visiting Cary-Grove 41-28 in a nonconference game.
Carly McCameron added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots for Antioch (6-2), while Alexis Duehr grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 6 points.
Lake Zurich 46, Lake Forest 33: The Bears won the North Suburban Lake opener, jumping out to a 14-7 lead after one quarter and taking a 24-121 advantage into halftime.
Lake Zurich was ahead 35-27 after three.
Brooke Green had 13 points for Lake Forest (3-3).
Grant 69, Round Lake 24: On Tuesday night in a North Suburban Prairie opener, Jasmine Sangster scored 21 points to lead the Bulldogs.
Andrea Weaver and freshman Mallory Harrity added 10 points apiece for Grant (4-2), which was up 15-2 after one quarter and 37-6 at halftime.
Miyah Johnson scored 8 points for Round Lake.
Wauconda 53, Crystal Lake Central 8: On Tuesday night, playing just their second game of the season, the Bulldogs used a 24-0 run in the third quarter to wipe out a 23-18 halftime deficit in the nonconference game.
Wauconda (2-0) was led in scoring by Jackie Lung and Katie Rossetti with 8 points apiece. Amber Head and Natalie Harding contributed 7 points each.
Wauconda outscored the Tigers 26-2 in the third quarter.
