St. Edward wins Dakota tourney: The Green Wave finished a 5-0 run at the Dakota tournament Saturday with wins of 61-30 over North Boone and 57-43 over Dakota. Cece Rapp had another big day, scoring 20 points in the win over North Boone and then coming back with 26 in the Dakota win. Yssa Sto. Domingo added 12 points, Kaitlyn Castoro had 9 and Madelyn Spagnola 8 against North Boone. Against Dakota, Castoro added 11 points and Spagnola had 9.

"We have some experience but a lot of younger girls and they stepped up and played into their roles throughout the tournament," said St. Edward coach Michelle Dawson, whose team is now 6-0 for the season. "I thought we had a really good tournament."

Bartlett 38, Metea Valley 26: Kaitlin Brohan had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Kelly Harris added 8 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Hawks (3-2) to a win in the final round of the Naperville Central tournament. Kayla Hare contributed 5 points and 6 rebounds for Bartlett.

Niles West 48, Hampshire 34: Emma Benoit had 15 points and Tricia Dumoulin scored 10 for the Whip-Purs (3-2) in the final round of the Hoffman Estates tournament.
