Murphy (30 points), Rolling Meadows top Tilden

Rolling Meadows 78, Tilden 60: Rolling Meadows sophomore Jared Murphy canned three 3s and finished with a game-high 30 points to help the Mustangs' boys basketball team improve to 2-1 after the completion of pool play at Palatine on Friday.

John Lothery also made three 3s and finished with 14 points, while Jack Schoessling had 13 for the Mustangs and A.J. Aluquin finished with 11.

Rolling Meadows outscored Tilden in each quarter, with the biggest advantage in a 19-12 second period.

The Mustangs will meet Waubonsie Valley in a meeting of third-place pool finishers at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Palatine, followed by Jacobs vs. York at 3:15 p.m and Palatine vs. Deerfield for the title at 4:45 p.m.

Conant 62, Walther Lutheran 24: The Cougars completed a 3-1 run through tournament play at St. Viator with a one-sided victory.

Chris Dolce led the Cougars in scoring with 14 points and Jimmy Sotos had 10 as ten player got into the scorebook for Conant. Danny Sotos and Brady Pelesh both had a pair of 3s for the Cougars.

King 54, Maine West 30: King held the Warriors to single-digit scoring in each period of tournament play at Maine West.

Stefan Balaban led the Warrriors (1-2) with 8 points. Maine West hosts Maine South in the tournament's finale at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Buffalo Grove 71, Christian Liberty 32: Hans Haller (14 points), Colin Calcagno (13) and Ryan Williams (10) led the way as the Bison (1-2) netted their first victory of the season in tournament play on their own floor.

Sam Silva and Paul Weiss led the Chargers (0-3) with 8 points apiece.

In the other game Friday at BG, Grayslake Central (2-1) topped Marmion 68-64.
