Boys basketball: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, Nov. 25

Burlington Central 76, Newark 42: Ryan Fitzgerald had a game-high 24 points while Luke McCurdy and Zach Schutta each scored 10 in the Rockets' season opener at the Sycamore tournament.

Rolling Meadows 67, Jacobs 57: The Golden Eagles (0-1) fell just short in their season opener despite a 20-point outing from Chrishawn Orange at the Palatine tournament. Matt Bindi had 12 points and Kyle Ross added 10.

Rockford Jefferson 68, Dundee-Crown 49: Kiwaun Seals led all scorers with 27 points, including five 3-pointers, but it was not enough for the Chargers (0-1) at the Sycamore tournament. Jack Orndalh added 10 points for D-C.

Hampshire 83, Noble/Hansberry 53: Luke Tuttle (17 points), Brennen Woods (16) and Drew Doran (14) all scored in double figures as the Whip-Purs (2-0) cruised to victory at the Sycamore tournament.

Cary-Grove 67, Woodstock North 53: After dropping their season opener, the Trojans (1-1) bounced back with a win at the Woodstock tournament. Justin Blair had a game-high 18 points while Nick Barr added 14 points.

Bartlett 52, Brother Rice 41: The Hawks (2-0) raced out to an early lead and never looked back to pick the win at the Wheaton Academy tournament. Ryan DiCanio had 23 points while Robbie Jimenez added 11 for Bartlett.
