Boys basketball: Fox Valley roundup Monday, Nov. 24

Bartlett 64, Downers Grove North 56: Ryan DiCanio scored 23 points and Jason Hasenberg added 18 to lead the Hawks to a win in their season opener at the Wheaton Academy tournament. Tyler Pauletti added 9 points for Bartlett.

South Elgin 90, Holy Trinity 49: Led by 16 points from Matty Smith, the Storm had 13 players scored points in their season-opening rout at the Fenton tournament. Justin Howard added 12 points for South Elgin, which scored 40 in the second quarter to take a 56-20 lead at halftime. Logan Atkins added 10 points to the win.

Hampshire 70, Sandwich 55: The Whip-Purs opened their season with a win at the Strombom Tournament in Sycamore behind 20 points from Matt Bridges and 16 from Drew Doran. Daniel Duhaj added 13 points for Hampshire and Luke Tuttle had 10.

Westminster Christian 90, Alden-Hebron 39: The Warriors jumped to a 28-7 lead after one quarter and cruised to an easy win at their own tournament. Scott Graziano led four Westminster players in double figures with 17 points. Dillon Rejman added 15, Robert Kleczynski had 11 and Peter Hahn 10.

CL South 70, Richmond-Burton 68: Zachary Geske scored 25 points with Josh Friesen and Tyler Baker adding 16 each to lead the Gators at the Richmond/Johnsburg tournament. Matthew Schingel added 10 points for Crystal Lake South.
