Tri-Cities girls basketball roundup

Aurora Central Catholic beat Hinckley-Big Rock 49-30 in the final game of the Tim Hume Breakout in Somonauk Friday night for the first 4-0 start in the 40-year history of the Chargers girls basketball program.

The Chargers held HBR to 8 baskets - only one in the second half. Nine Chargers scored led by Natalie Droeske and Alex Horton with 8 points each.

St. Charles North 57, Pontiac 32: The North Stars evened their record at 1-1 behind 14 points from Nichole Davidson Friday night against the host at the Pontiac Tournament.

St. Charles North will play two games Saturday.

Yorkville 49, Aurora Christian 41: Kirsten Madsen led the Lady Eagles (2-1) with 16 points Friday night at the Hoops Happenings Tournament.

Sami Hultine added 11 points in the loss.

Yorkville plays Ottawa at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at IMSA for the championship Saturday. Aurora Christian plays conference rival Rosary for third place at Aurora Christian at 1:30 p.m.
