Flickinger's run ends at Westminster Christian

Westminster Christian athletic director Rick Palmer announced Friday that girls basketball coach Ken Flickinger has resigned to pursue a non-coaching career in Colorado.

Flickinger has led the Warriors for the last nine years, amassing an overall record of 112-123. Winning seasons and postseason runs became the norm for Westminster Christian the last four seasons, as Flickinger's teams finished 83-31 in that span.

Last year's team finished 26-5 and and won the program's first Class 1A sectional crown. The previous year, Westminster Christian was 22-9 and claimed the first regional title.

Flickinger earned IBCA Coach of the Year honors the last two years in the Class 1A and 2A divisions. His opportunity in Colorado is as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Bluefin in Denver.
