Kirby leads Carmel Catholic win
Billy Kirby scored 10 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, as Carmel Catholic's boys basketball team rallied for a 56-54 win over host Libertyville in a nonconference thriller Tuesday night.
Kirby drained two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Jack George scored a team-high 17 points for Carmel (22-6), which trailed 19-14 after one quarter, 32-26 at halftime and 45-37 after three.
The Corsairs also received 8 points apiece from Michael Barr and Chris Duff.
Libertyville got 11 points apiece from Matt Reed and Johnny Vernasco and 10 from Jack Lipp.
Richmond-Burton 77, Round Lake 69: Karnell Wright scored a game-high 26 points for the host Panthers, who trailed only 49-48 after three quarters.
Mateusz Lopez added 14 points and Rayshawn Bommon had 11 for Round Lake (4-21).
Freshman center Joe St. Pierre led Richmond-Burton with 18 points.
Grant 68, Wauconda 58: In a makeup of last month's postponement due to heavy snow, Grant was led by Ryan Noda's 17 points and Matt Malmberg's 16.
Grant (12-12, 6-5 North Suburban Prairie) also received 12 points from Joe Sadauskas in snapping a three-game losing streak.
Wauconda (13-12, 5-6) received 16 points and 8 rebounds from Ben Carlson and a season-high 14 from Dylan Latiolais.
Warren 44, Prospect 39: Greg Swane and Eric Gillespie scored 19 and 16 points, respectively, to lead the host Blue Devils in the nonconference game.
Adrian Deere added 9 for Warren (16-13), which ended a season-worst five-game losing streak.
