Benko delivers as Grayslake Central prevails

Michael Benko scored a season-high 15 points, and Grayslake Central's boys basketball team rallied after squandering a fourth-quarter lead to outlast visiting Woodstock North 73-68 in overtime Thursday night.

The Rams, who already had clinched the Fox Valley Fox championship, improved to 13-8 overall and 9-0 in the division.

Malcolm Reed and Sam Ruhlmann added 12 points each, while Charlie Anderson and David Llorens chipped in 10 apiece for Grayslake Central, which led 49-41 after three quarters. The Thunder outscored the Rams 23-15 in the fourth to force OT but got outscored 9-4 in the extra session.

It was the Rams' eighth win in their last nine games and second OT winner in their last three contests.
