Grayslake N. knocks off 3A power Washington

A trip to central Illinois didn’t cool off Grayslake North’s girls basketball team.

Kendall Detweiler poured in 26 points, and the Knights knocked off host Washington 60-50 Friday night. Washington is ranked sixth in Class 3A.

Grayslake North (12-6) won its fourth straight game and eighth in its last nine.

Brittney Thibeaux and Sidney Lovitsch added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Knights, who led 11-10 after one quarter, 27-23 at halftime and 43-35 after three. Detweiler and Lovitsch each hit two 3-pointers.

Grayslake Central 41, Johnsburg 24: Morgan Dahlstrom scored a game-high 18 points, as the visiting Rams won the Fox Valley Fox Division contest.

Grayslake Central (14-6, 6-1) also received 8 points from Theresa Curtis in winning its third in a row.

Wauconda 44, Round Lake 24: Eleven players scored for the Bulldogs, who were led by Anna Wisniewski’s 8 points in the North Suburban Prairie game.

Jackie Lung and Dani Sturm each had 6 points for Wauconda (9-6, 4-2). Katie Rossetti and Lauren Nee had 9 and 6 rebounds, respectively.

Round Lake (3-19, 0-6) got 13 points from Justice Clark and 7 from Destiny Brown.
