Lake Zurich subdues Streamwood

Lake Zurich’s basketball team overcame an early deficit to knock off host Streamwood 56-34 in an MLK tournament game Wednesday night.

Mike Travlos scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Bears (10-7), who trailed 11-3 midway through the opening quarter. Coach Billy Pitcher then called a timeout, and the visitors were up 12-11 heading into the second quarter.

Lake Zurich extended its advantage to 31-21 by halftime. Brad Kruse added 13 points in the win. The Bears grabbed 11 offensive board and outrebounded the Sabres 27-21.
