Welter, Buffalo Grove shoot past Deerfield

Coming off a loss on Saturday to Hersey in which it converted six 3-pointers, Buffalo Grove’s girls basketball team made seven of them Monday and posted a 60-43 victory over visiting Deerfield in the nonconference game.

Sophomore Maddie Welter scored a game-high 20 points, including five 3-pointers to lead the Bison (9-12).

Junior guard Julie Jambrone also reached double figures with 12 points while classmate Brianna Kolbus chipped in 8 points, all coming at the free throw line where she was 8-for-8.

Teammates Madeline Callahan and Courtney Meyer each added 7 points with one 3-pointer apiece.
