Gallimore passes 1,000 points as Antioch tops Lakes

It was only a matter of time for Paige Gallimore.

Antioch’s high-scoring senior guard hit a milestone Saturday night, scoring the 1,000th point in her varsity basketball career, as she helped the Sequoits defeat host Lakes 66-39 in North Suburban Prairie Division action.

Gallimore, who needed 18 points to reach 1,000 in her three-year varsity career, finished with a game-high 26 points, while also adding 7 rebounds and 8 steals. She sank 10 shots from the floor and went 6 of 12 from the foul line.

Gallimore achieved her milestone in the third quarter.

“The coaching staff is so proud of Paige and her drive to be the best player she can be,” Sequoits coach Tim Borries said. “To score 1,000-plus points in a varsity career that has spanned only three seasons is an impressive feat, and she deserves the recognition.”
