Bartlett 51, Metea Valley 48: The Hawks (10-6, 2-3) fought back from a 6-point deficit in the final 4 minutes for a come-from-behind Upstate Eight Valley win over the Mustangs. Ryan DiCanio led all scorers with 15 points but in the last stages Robbie Jimenez (9 points) nailed 2 clutch 3-pointers and Brian Triphahn (8 points) sank one as well to get Bartlett over the hump.
South Elgin 90, East Aurora 66: For the second time this season, the Storm (10-6, 3-2) watched 3 players score at least 20 points each in a UEC Valley win. Darius Wells nailed 5 3-pointers to go with his game-high 23 points while Matt Smith (21 points) and Matt McClure (20 points) combined for 64 points to help South Elgin out of a 15-2 first quarter hole. Another contributor was the switch on defense from man-to-man to zone, which allowed the Storm to convert transition layups off turnovers and helped outscore the Tomcats 24-9 in the third quarter.
Burlington Central 70, Richmond-Burton 46: In Big Northern East action, Sean Fitzgerald poured in a game-high 21 points on 6 3-pointers for the Rockets (11-4, 3-1) in their 24-point rout of the visiting Rockets (10-3). Duncan Ozburn scored 17 points and Jacob Schutta registered in double figures with 13 as BC outscored R-B 27-14 in the third quarter and by 17 in the second half.
Harvest Christian 54, Alden-Hebron 42: Noah Fox (27 points) and John Vislisel (20 points) put on a shooting clinic as they combined for 47 points and each shot over 50 percent from the field to knock off Alden-Hebron in Northeastern Athletic Conference action. Dan Turpin added 10 rebounds and 6 steals in the winning effort.
