Andersen scores 1,000th point for Aurora Christian

Aurora Christian senior Alyssa Andersen scored the 1,000th point of her high school career Friday against Rochelle on the second day of the Dixon Christmas Tournament.

Andersen scored 15 points in the game, reaching 1,000 in the first quarter. The Eagles beat Rochelle 52-39 to improve to 9-5.

Natasha Brown added 8 points and 16 rebounds, Gabby Galbato 8 points and 4 rebounds and Kirsten Madsen 8 points.

Aurora Christian will play in the semifinals of the consolation bracket Saturday against Kaneland.

Kaneland 45, Freeport Aquin 28: The balanced Knights (7-7) won at the Dixon Tournament without a single player in double figures but four had at least 8.

Camri Conley, Kelly Wallner and Amber Winquist Bailey all scored 9 points for the Knights, and Ally VanBogaert had 8 points.

Glenbard South 58, West Aurora 47: The Blackhawks (10-3) lost their second straight at the Wheaton North Falcon Classic despite a double-double from Liz Skaggs (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Abriya Zeitz with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

St. Charles East 51, Schaumburg 49: The Saints advanced to the consolation championship at Wheaton North Falcon Classic with this win Friday.

Amanda Hilton led the Saints (7-7) with 16 points and Katie Claussner and Kyra Washington both scored 14 points.

St. Charles North 56, Resurrection 41: The North Stars bounced back from an opening loss at the Dundee-Crown Charger Classic.

Nichole Davidson led the way with 25 points, and Morgan Rosencrants scored 12. The North Stars made 24 of 28 free throws.
