Grayslake North’s Detweiler nets No. 1,000

Kendall Detweiler scored the 1,000th point of her career, and Grayslake North’s girls basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night.

Detweiler netted 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to lead the Knights to a 45-36 win over visiting Crystal Lake Central in a Fox Valley Fox Division game. The senior guard entered the game 18 points shy of 1,000 for her four-year varsity career.

Grayslake North (5-5, 2-2) also received 8 points apiece from Brittney Thibeaux and Sidney Lovitsch. The Knights trailed 9-6 after one quarter, before outscoring the Tigers 18-6 in the second. The hosts were up 37-22 after three.
