Head, Wauconda hit it big again

Wauconda senior guard Dion Head posted a career-best point total last Saturday night.

He did it again exactly one week later.

Head poured in 33 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists, leading Wauconda to a 71-67 win over visiting Round Lake in a North Suburban Prairie Division contest.

Head — who scored 25 points against Woodstock last Saturday — hit 13 shots from the floor, including two 3-pointers, and was 5 of 7 from the foul line.

Kevin Malisheski added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Wauconda (6-2, 2-0), which won its third game in a row. Ricky Sidlowski tallied 8 points and 8 boards for the Bulldogs.

Round Lake (1-7, 0-3) was led by Karnell Wright’s 26 points. Michael Green added 16 for the Panthers. Green and Wright sank three and two 3-pointers, respectively. Round Lake also lost by four points in its previous game, against Grant.
