Balliu, Tomasiewicz lead Lakes win

Jake Balliu scored 11 points, Michal Tomasiewicz added 10 and Lakes' boys basketball team edged Grayslake North 47-42 Saturday night to earn its first win of the season.

Ben Haviland hit a big 3-pointer to seal the win for Lakes (1-5). The Eagles also received 9 points from Ethan Sage.

Grayslake North fell to 1-5.

Wauconda 51, Woodstock 46: Dion Head scored a career-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists for the host Bulldogs in the nonconference game. Head sank 9 shots, including a 3-pointer.

Ricky Sidlowski added 8 for Wauconda (4-2), which held a 12-11 lead after one quarter, was up 23-19 at halftime and 38-25 after three quarters.
