Byron 57, St. Edward 43: Cece Rapp had 12 points and Katie Swanson added 10 for St. Edward (2-2) in this loss at the Dakota tournament. The game was tied 21-21 at halftime but Byron, which made 8 3-pointers, pulled away in the second half.
“It was a well-played game,” said St. Edward coach Michelle Dawson. “We just couldn’t recover from their 3s.”
Cary-Grove 53, Lake Zurich 33: Katie Barker scored 26 points and Abby Glaysher added 10 to lead the Trojans (4-2) to a win at the Lake Zurich Turkey Thriller. Cary-Grove finished 3-2 in the tournament.
South Elgin 65, Dundee-Crown 49: Kennede Miller’s 15 points led the Storm (3-2) at the Dundee-Crown tournament. Savanah Uveges, Mackie Kelleher and Nadia Yang each had 9 points for South Elgin and Anna Tracy scored 8. Melissa Barker had 13 points to lead Dundee-Crown (1-5). Frankie Scarpelli and Emily Michalski each scored 9 for the Chargers.
Aurora Christian 53, Harvest Christian 40: Kylee Knox had 20 points with 4 3-pointers and 5 steals but Harvest Christian (1-1) fell in nonconference action. Sydney Doby (8 rebounds) and Rachel Oostdyk (8 rebounds) also contributed for the Lions.
Palatine 40, CL South 30: Rachel Rasmussen had 8 points and Chanel Fanter 7 for Crystal Lake South (3-3) at the Dundee-Crown tournament.
