Bartlett gets No. 299 for Sarna

Ally Giampapa scored 23 points and Lauren Janczak had 12 points and 6 rebounds Saturday as the Bartlett girls basketball team downed Rockford Auburn 67-52 in the Naperville Central/Benet Tip-Off Tournament.

The win was the 299th career victory for 16th-year Bartlett coach Denise Sarna.

Elizabeth Arco added 5 points and 9 rebounds for the Hawks (1-1), who play Benet Academy on Tuesday.

Hononegah 63, CL South 57: The Gators fell behind 31-20 at halftime and couldn’t come back in this loss at the Dundee-Crown tournament. Sara Mickow had 17 points to lead Crystal Lake South (2-1), while Rachel Rasmussen and Carly Nolan added 10 each.

Hononegah made 9 3-pointers, including six by senior Rebecca Skurski.

“We gave up too many offensive rebounds and (Hononegah) came out on fire,” said CL South coach Kyle McCaughn. “We just could never get over the hump.”

Fremd 56, Cary-Grove 38: Katie Barker had 8 points and 7 rebounds for the Trojans (2-2) in this loss at the Lake Zurich Turkey Thriller.

St. Viator 65, Jacobs 45: Jenn Barnec had 11 points for Jacobs (1-3) in its loss at the Dundee-Crown tournament.

Elgin Academy 35, Mooseheart 27: Kaitlyn Pearson had 19 points for Elgin Academy (1-2) at the Hilltoppers’ tournament. She was named to the all-tournament team. Lizzie Clements added 11 points for EA.
