Aurora Christian, Aurora Central both win

Daily Herald reports

Kirsten Madsen scored 17 points, Alyssa Andersen added 10 and Natasha Brown added 6 points and 12 rebounds to help Aurora Christian open its season with a 45-41 win over Indian Creek.

Aurora Central Catholic 44, Hinckley-Big Rock 38: The Chargers (2-0) won their second straight game at Tim Hume Breakout Tournament in Somonauk.

Gabi Alfaro helped seal the win in the back-and-forth game with 3 of 4 free throws in the final minute.

Alfaro led all scorers with 18 points. Freshmen Taylor Harazin scored 11.

The Chargers (2-0) take on Plano and All-State candidate Clarissa Martinez in Somonauk Wednesday night.
