Dazzling dunk video by Streamwood’s Marcus Lewis

Streamwood native Marcus Lewis, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound senior guard for Eastern Kentucky, gained a reputation as a high-flying dunk artist in high school when he won the Chicago High School Classic Dunk Contest.

Now his artistry and power has gone national thanks to a YouTube video of EKU’s annual dunk contest to start the college basketball season.

Here’s a link to the school’s dunk contest highlights. Fast-forward to 0:25, 1:20 and 1:55 to catch his thundering highlights.

Lewis, who played a South Suburban College and Parkland College before joining Eastern Kentucky, earned honorable mention all-state honors after averaging 20.2 points, 6rebounds, 3.7 steals, 2.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game as a senior at Streamwood High School. He was a two-time Fox Valley All-Area pick by the Daily Herald, and led the Sabres in scoring and steals his final year.

“He’s probably one of the most talented players that I’ve ever come across,” Streamwood coach Tim Jones said in 2010. “When he realizes that and how much hard work he can put into it, he can be a tremendous basketball player in the future.”
