Kaneland wins defensive struggle
Kaneland 34, LaSalle-Peru 32: Despite being shut out in the second quarter, Kaneland responded with 19 points in the third to notch a hard-fought Northern Illinois Big XII crossover road victory.
Only four Knights got on the scoreboard, led by Matt Limbrunner’s 14 points and 12 from John Pruett. Kaneland (10-6, 4-1), winners of four straight, turned a 12-9 halftime deficit into a 28-22 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Walther Lutheran 62, Aurora Central Catholic 54: Anthony Andujar netted 18 points and Phil Schuetz added 15 for ACC (8-8, 3-3), but the Chargers could not stop Jon Fuqua, who racked up 35 points and 14 rebounds in the Broncos’ Suburban Christian Blue win.
Bartlett 46, Lincoln Park 35: Lance Whitaker had 19 points and Jon Moss added 15 as the Hawks (16-4) won at the Wheaton Warrenville South MLK Tournament. Bartlett will take on Oswego Monday at 1:15 p.m. in a semifinal. The Hawks have now won 7 straight and 10 of 11.
