Marmion falls short in 3rd-place game

Hampshire 50, Marmion 44: Despite a 15-point performance from Mike Sheehan, the Cadets (5-10) lost to the Whip-Purs for the second time in the Chuck Dayton Holiday Tournament at DeKalb, this time Friday in the third-place game.

Hampshire (12-2) broke out to a 17-9 first-quarter lead, but Marmion closed to within 25-24 at the half. However, the Whip-Purs pushed the advantage back to 7 points after three quarters. Tyler Crater notched a game-high 18 points for Hampshire while Alex Theisen added 8 points for the Cadets.
