Redhawks in D-C title game

Victoria Trowbridge scored a season-high 24 points with 13 rebounds, and No. 4 Naperville Central dominated previously unbeaten Evanston 55-32 to advance to the championship game of the 30th Dundee-Crown Charger Classic.

The Redhawks (16-1), who last won the tournament in 2003 — Candace Parker's senior year — will play Maine South (15-2), which beat Fenwick 69-61, in tonight's title game.

Trowbridge scored 10 of her points in the first quarter, Naperville Central getting out to a 15-9 lead that Evanston (15-1) could never come back from. Evanston was playing without leading scorer and rebounder Alecia Cooley, out with a sprained ankle.

Laura Dierking added 9 points and 7 rebounds, her free throw sparking a 15-0 second-half Naperville Central run that all but sewed up the win.

Metea Valley 50, Downers Grove South 37:Lori Obendorf powered in 16 points and Bria Walker 13, and the No. 17 Mustangs (13-3) remained unbeaten in the Oswego East Holiday Tournament. Metea will play Oswego East today for the championship. Brittany Dietz paced Downers Grove South (9-5) with 10 points.Lisle 47, Antioch 38:Kelly Urban scored 15 points and Kristina Fernette 14, and the Lions (15-2) advanced to the championship game of their Lisle Cage Classic with their 13th straight win.
