St. Viator bounces back at Marist

St. Viator’s boys basketball team bounced back after losing its East Suburban Catholic opener to St. Patrick last week by posting a 54-44 victory at Marist on Friday night.

Junior guard Ore Arogundade (9 rebounds) scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in the second half to rally the Lions (6-1, 1-1). Marist (5-2, 0-2) suffered its second consecutive conference defeat.

Kevin Hammarlund added 13 points for Viator.

Niles North 60, Maine West 47: B.J. Beckford (24 points, 4 three-pointers), Malachi Nix (14 points) and J.J. Myles (8 points) led Niles North (6-2, 3-0 in CSL North) to the Central Suburban League North win Friday in

Skokie.

Allante Bates (12 points), Tom Kukec (8), Jamal Sherman (8) and Anthony Dones (7 points) paced the Warriors (4-4, 1-2).

Roycemore 48, Christian Liberty 45: The Chargers got a team-high 17 points from David Colbert but dropped a nonconference contest on the road.
