McCameron comes through for Antioch

Antioch girls basketball coach Tim Borries called on Carly McCameron against host Lakes on Saturday night, and the 6-foot sophomore didn’t disappoint.

Borries credited McCameron for her strong work pressuring Lakes on inbounds passes, as the Sequoits pressed in the final four minutes of a tight game.

Antioch ended up pulling out a 30-28 win, outscoring the Eagles 14-7 in the fourth quarter.

McCameron came off the bench to finish with 5 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

“Carly McCameron stepped up big,” Borries said after his Sequoits (7-3, 3-0) won a North Suburban Prairie Division game for the second time in as many nights, while hiking their winning streak to three.

Antioch also got 10 rebounds from Alex Fracek. Sequoits guard Megan Borries scored a game-high 12 points (two 3-pointers). Paige Gallimore added 7 points.

Lakes was led offensively by Terese McMahon with 10 points.
