Mooseheart routs Westminster

Just hours after Mooseheart won a temporary restraining order against the IHSA concerning the eligibility of three boys basketball players from the Sudan, those three combined for 29 points in a 53-21 win over Westminster Christian in a nonconference game at Mooseheart.

Makur Puou led Mooseheart with 16 points, while his Sudanese teammates, Mangisto Deng and Akim Nyang, scored 11 and 2 points respectively. The IHSA had ruled the three ineligible but a Kane County judge issued a temporary restraining order late Tuesday afternoon allowing the three to continue to play.

Their case will be heard by the IHSA board of directors next week.

Will Woodhouse led Westminster Christian (3-4) with 11 points.
