Fremd ran its record to 4-0 in the Turkey Thriller with a 73-28 victory over Lake Zurich on Tuesday.
The Bears will meet Rolling Meadows (5-0, 4-0) for the championship today at 6:45 p.m. at Lake Zurich High School.
Meadows defeated the Vikings 52-51 in overtime in the 2011-12 Mid-Suburban League championship game.
Sophomore Haley Gorecki led the Vikes against Lake Zurich with 18 points (2 3-pointers) followed by Ashley McConnell (14 points, on 3-pointer) and Marilyn Lortz (8).
Rolling Meadows 72, Cary-Grove 22: Alexis Glasgow (23 points, 3 3-pointers, 7 rebounds, 4 steals), Ashley Montanez (13 points, 6 rebounds), Jenny Vliet (12 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals) and Morgan Keller (10 points) all reached double figures for the Mustangs.
Jackie Kemph had 10 assists and 5 steals while Sami Kay had 6 rebounds and Katie Shewmon 5.
Wheaton Warrenville South 70, Schaumburg 36: Senior guard Amanda Kelly scored a season-high 26 points with 4 3-pointers for the Saxons, who are 2-2 in their own Thanksgiving tourney.
Hoffman Estates 55, Seton Academy 22: Destinee Young (18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assist, 3 steals) and Becca Stoczynski (13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals) were top scorers for Hoffman Estates which improved to 4-0 in the Elk Grove-Hoffman Estates tourney.
"You can see the girls growing as a team," said Hawks coach Mike Nocella. "We still have areas we need to improve but we are headed in the right direction."
Kaela Worman hit a pair of free throws and Jackie Nailor scored a fastbreak layup for their first varsity points.
Senior Shante Hill added 8 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals for Hoffman while Mary Saitta had 6 points and 4 rebounds.
"I was also pleased with my bench as it worked very hard on defense" said Nocella, whose team shot 62 percent from the field.
Elk Grove 59, Harlan 29: The Grenadiers cruised to their fourth straight win in their own Elk Grove-Hoffman Estates tournament.
Elk Grove (4-0) will host Hoffman Estates (4-0) for the tourney championship on Saturday at noon.
Grayslake Central 41, Buffalo Grove 36: Sophomore guard Julia Jambrone led the Bison (2-1) with 17 points while Kimberly Herzog added 8 in the third-round game of the Bison Classic at Maine South High School.
Jambrone was starting in only her third varsity game.
"She really played well," said BG first-year coach Steve Kolodziej. "She played with composure and didn't show any inexperience. She played with a lot of poise."
The Bison were down 11 after three quarters.
"We challenged them at that point to come and show what they were made of," Kolodziej said. "And they responded by battling to the end and playing hard. We've just got to do that for four quarters."
Bison senior center Bailey North (11 points in the season-opening win over Westinghouse), the team's leading scorer and rebounder last season, missed her second straight game with a sprained ankle suffered in practice last Friday.
"Offensively, we struggled in the second and third quarters and we didn't get shots to fall," Kolodziej added. "We've just got to understand as a team each player has to do her job as an individual. And we've got to get better on defense. We're a young team. We've got to come our ready to play."
Antioch 47, Wheeling 40: Sophomores Hailey Dammeier (17 points, 3 3-pointers) and Hannah Dobrowski (11) were top scorers for Wheeling (0-3).
