Coach fired for sex book files lawsuit

A former South suburban high school guidance counselor and girls basketball coach who was fired after writing a racy book has filed a federal lawsuit.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Bryan Craig claims his free speech rights were violated and is seeking $1 million.

Craig was fired by the Rich Township High School District 227 board on Sept. 18 for writing the self-published book that includes graphic sexual content.

In the book’s forward, Craig says he wants to give women a guide to gaining the “upper hand in a relationship” because he is tired of hearing them complain.

School officials say Craig showed poor judgment for someone entrusted with children.

Craig argues the book wasn’t part of his official duties and shouldn’t have been used to fire him.
