The battle of the Big Northern East unbeatens went to the three-time defending champs Tuesday night as Hampshire hit the road for Richmond-Burton and came home with a 51-42 win. The Whip-Purs (20-2, 7-0) established the 9-point lead by halftime and then held it through the second half.

Karla Vietinghoff led the way for Hampshire with 16 points, with Alex Dumoulin adding 15.

St. Edward 67, Wheaton Academy 42: St. Edward fell behind 18-15 after one quarter but came back to outscore Wheaton Academy 52-24 the rest of the way and post a 67-42 nonconference win at home, the Green Wave’s fourth straight win. Calliie Johnson led the Wave (16-5) with 21 points and Alex Lee came off the bench to add 12 in her second game back from injury. Paige Gannon had 14 points for St. Edward and Maddie Kerr 8.

Burlington Central 50, North Boone 38: The Rockets (10-12, 4-3) got balanced scoring as Brenda Thasavong had 12 points, Alli Settanni 11 and Jessica Laird 9 in this Big Northern East win at home.
