For three quarters, St. Viator appeared to have Marian Catholic ready to head back to Chicago Heights with its eighth straight loss.

But the final eight minutes saw Marian pull off a stunning turnaround from a 9-point deficit as it pulled off a 65-59 East Suburban Catholic Conference victory over the Lions at Cahill Gym in Arlington Heights.

Marian (8-13, 3-4) outscored Viator 28-13 in the fourth quarter.

D.J. Morris had 17 points to lead the Lions (11-6, 3-3), who have a Monday night makeup game at Joliet Catholic. Kevin Walsh and Chris Myjak added 11 points apiece.

Deerfield 49, Maine West 40: Maine West (10-7, 3-3) couldn’t overcome a rough shooting night as it lost its third straight Central Suburban North game at Deerfield (9-8, 3-3).

Maine West shot 37.8 percent from the field (14-for-37) and 50 percent at the free-throw line (6-for-12). Deerfield shot 59.3 percent from the field (16-for-27) and was 11-for-18 on free throws.

Kevin Garcia shot 4-for-9 on 3-pointers en route to a team-high 13 points for Maine West. Conor Hart had 11 points and Emmett Turner-Jackson added 10 points but Odera Eneogwe missed the game because of illness.

John Carney had 13 points to lead Deerfield and Mack Watts added 9 points.

IMSA 50, Christian Liberty 48: Luke Comerouski scored 19 points and had 5 rebounds and 5 steals for Christian Liberty (5-10, 0-6) in the Northeastern Athletic Conference loss to the Illinois Math and Science Academy (2-6, 2-2).

Ben Thomas added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Chargers, who shot just 29 percent from the field (14-for-48).
