Scouting report: The Hilltoppers have long had great height, and this year is no different. At 6-foot-2 Herbst will be counted on to be a presence in the middle, offensively and defensively. Herbst, who signed last week to play for Southern Indiana, had 94 blocks last year. “It’s not enteriely on her shoulders, but she’ll set the tone for us. We have a lot of good people around her.” Hofland said. She’ll be joined by 6-footers Hayes and Nighbor. On the outside the Hilltoppers will count on Lauren Davis. “It’s her time to shine,” Hofland said, and she’s stepping into that role. She’s a great defender who can use her athleticism to drive to the basket on offense. She also has a good outside shot. Flanagan will be the point guard and can match Davis in her athleticism and defensive ability. Folan will play wing and inside. “She’s another great defender that we’ve got to have on the floor,” Hofland said.
